9.0 Earthquake and Tsunami hits Japan

On Friday, March 11, 2011 at 02:46:23 PM there was a 9.0 earthquake and Tsunami near Sendai, Japan. 2,414 people were confirmed dead and 3,118 missing, while 1,885 were injured due to earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan. The number of victims yesterday officially consisted of 1,647 people. In the midst of a mass rescue efforts, there has been data updates showing severe loss along the east coast of Honshu island, where the tsunami waves destroyed or damaged more than 55,380 homes and other buildings. More than 3,000 houses were flooded by the sea water of tsunami, while about 130 other houses were on fire, there were at least 68 landslides in those areas. Hawaii, California, Colorado and Washington have all reported tiny quantities of radioactive material from Japan. Radiation has also now been detected in Oregon, the fifth state to be affected by Japan's damaged nuclear reactors. The Earthquake and tsunami resulted from thrust faulting on or near the subduction zone plate boundary between the Pacific and North America plates.

Ring of Fire

This week fire in Granbury

6 people die in a mobile home balze after a party, 3 got out injured.
The fire broke out around 5:30 a.m. Sunday after a party in a double-wide on the shore of Lake Granbury about 65 miles southwest of Dallas, Texas. However none of them were from hood country. 3 people escaped and called 911 at a neihbors house. It is not surtain how the fire started, but a group of boys were throwing a 17 birthday party that was loud enough to wake the neihbors.Many peple will be affected by the loss of these 6 young adults. Parents and friends will grieve for a long while over the loss of so many young friends and family members.

Monsoons in India

The wet monsoons in, which begins almost as soon as June starts, are important to India. They are responsible for almost 90 percent of India’s water supply. The rain usually last till September. The torrential rains of India’s celebrated summer monsoon could soon be a thing of the past with the climate change which is replacing the wet season with drought. Monsoon basicaly has come from the Arabic word ‘mawsim’ meaning weather and it refers to the gracious bounty of the generator, operator and destructor in the form of merciful rains.
